Concert was performed by the Percy French Troubadours
Thanks to all of you who supported our Percy French evening on Saturday. The songs of Percy French, who died in 1920, have stood the test of time and it was wonderful to hear the audience singing along. It was a wonderful success, with an attendance of over 200. We were charmed by the professional, entertaining & humorous performance of the Troubadours. What a talented group of guys who have the generosity of spirit to give of their time free of charge to raise much needed cash for various charities.
On February 6th 2017 a cheque for €5,000 was presented to Bernadette Gillis of St Francis Hospice at their Blanchardstown facility. (See photo below)
The Troubadours were formed about four years ago. The group consists of fifteen friends of senior ages ranging from 60 to 90. There are five musicians-Bass Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Keyboard, Fiddle and Drums. The group is based in Blanchardstown. All are members of a local Bowling Club and a Barbershop Group.
They perform strictly for charity and to date they have raised over €50,000 for various charities. Thanks to Lion Tony McCarthy for the photos.
