CHARITABLE STATUS Malahide Lions Club is a Non Profit Volunteer and Service Organisation delivering services for the benefit of the community, the needy and less well off in society. The Club is not a registered charity under the Charities Act 2009 (“the Act”). The Club has commenced the process to register as a charity under the Act.
TAXATION TREATMENT ON DONATIONS 'Pay-As-You-Earn' taxpayers can donate over €250 (R.O.I. Clubs) to a Club as a tax-free donation. We are registered with Revenue Commissioners with number CHY15707 for this purpose. PAYE workers who wish to avail of this valuable donation type must fill out the required CHY4 Cert. Section 848A Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 (TCA 1997) provides for a scheme of tax relief for certain "eligible charities" and other "approved bodies" in respect of donations received on or after 6 April 2001.
