This is Malahide Lions Club's fifth year to host the Christmas Party for our Local Senior Citizens. As usual, we relied on the expertise and knowledge of the wonderful Jo Morris for information on the list of invitees. As a result, 105 guests were present in the Grand Hotel on Saturday, December 2nd. The hotel, as is their wont, supplied tables decorated to a high standard, along with a menu of Turkey and ham main course, dessert, and tea/coffee. Wine at the table was sponsored by the Shiel family of Londis, Yellow Walls Rd. Santa and Mrs. Claus took time from their busy schedules to visit us and carols and sing along songs were supplied by Muireann Conway.
Malahide Lions Club is grateful for additional sponsorship from Malahide Credit Union, Malahide Chamber of Commerce, St. Sylvester's Parish and a private donor for their help in defraying expenditure. Local businesses were also very generous in supplying raffle prizes. Music on the night was supplied by the fantastic Derek McEvoy. Thanks too to the drivers who put their time and cars at our disposal to ferry guests to and from the event. Below are some of the images from the night, taken by Lion Tony McCarthy.
