Recommendations:
You should be in good health and used to walking. Wear suitable clothing ,warm socks and comfortable footwear (boots with ankle support preferably). Take account of the prevailing weather conditions and, if necessary, bring a change of clothing/footwear for the return journey. Sunblock may also be required (with a bit of luck!) Carry a backpack with liquid and a light lunch for one stop. The organisers will carry a first aid kit but it is advisable to carry a couple of plasters and blister pads. Coronavirus. It will come as no surprise to you that the Hillwalk for the Hospice planned for April 19th did not take place on that date due to the ongoing constraints caused by the Coronavirus.
We had hoped that an ease of restrictions would allow us to hold the walk in late autumn but sadly, this did not prove possible. The best we can hope for now is to be able to hold the walk in Spring 2021. In the meantime, wash your hands, stay safe and try to get a walk in , bearing in mind the advice currently in force. The Malahide Community Forum have published some looped walks in the Malahide area on their web page. Slideshow photos by Marc, Damian, Dave, Stephen and Trish.
